Resources and Policies
AIS Communities Policies – The bylaws and policy manual of the Association for Information Systems outlines several policies for AIS Communities including community membership eligibly, officer and award titles, community
websites, publications and research, and annual reporting requirements. Read the AIS Communities Policies.
Annual Reports - Due March 1 each year. The Annual Report process also provides an opportunity to recognize AIS Communities that do an outstanding job of supporting the mission of AIS through the advancement of knowledge and the promotion
of excellence in the practice and study of information systems. See the annual reporting guidelines and submission forms.
Governance and Volunteer Management
- Election Hosting - Annual elections as outlined in your community bylaws are the perfect opportunity to welcome new leaders to your community and to recognize the efforts of outgoing leaders. While some communities prefer to
administer their own elections, AIS will host online voting on behalf of your community upon request. Read more about AIS-hosted elections.
- Officer Changes - After an election please notify AIS of officer changes. To do so, please use this form to update officer information.
- Volunteer Recognition Certificates - In recognition of volunteer contributions, the Secretary of each SIG, Chapter, and College may request a certificate for those who have served in volunteer leadership roles. Learn more and request a certificate!
- Proposing a new Community - AIS SIGs, Chapters, and Colleges are a great way for to connect with local members, share research with like-minded colleagues, gain leadership experience in AIS, and get the most out of your membership

- Revitalizing an existing Community - In the case that an AIS Community becomes inactive, AIS will make every attempt to find new volunteers leaders to reactivate the community. Click here for

- Community Dates and Timelines - We have prepared a suggested monthly timeline for the typical activities of AIS Communities. Included in the timeline are approximate deadlines
for required activities such as your annual report and conference-related activities.
- Resources for Doctoral Students – Many of the AIS Communities offer leadership opportunities, scholarships, and free or discounted memberships to AIS Doctoral Students. See the full list of these resources here.

Digital Tools and Community Resources
- Microsite Hosting for your Community - The AIS Online Communities platform is connected to your AIS membership account to create a seamless sign on and will sync your AIS membership
information directly to your online communities profile. Users can search for other members, share files/documents, and create or reply to a discussion post. Members are encouraged to respond to and start new discussions in your community. For

- AIS Journal Status - The development of a Chapter or SIG journal is a natural outcome of the efforts of these groups and is an indication of the entity’s strength and vitality. In addition, such journals serve to further advance the
field of information systems within those geographic areas (Chapters) and/or subject matter (SIGs). Therefore, it is incumbent upon the association to solicit, support, and nurture the development of said journals. Learn more about applying for AIS Journal status.
Conference and Workshop Support
- eLibrary Uploads - AIS fully supports the utilization of its eLibrary by AIS Communities for the purposes of disseminating articles and proceedings regarding information systems. The self-service model is provided to editors of journals
and conference proceedings at no fee. Learn more about how to request an eLibrary series.
- Events at AIS Conferences or Anytime - Education is at the heart of the AIS mission. We encourage all AIS Communities to offer educational activities to their members. For information on using AIS resources to host an online event,
click here. For information on planning events at AMICS and ICIS, please visit the website for the specific conference.
- Event Promotion – Share details of your upcoming events with the full AIS community by sharing details with the staff office. Click here to complete the online form.
