Call for Nominations: Editor-in-Chief of the Communications of the Association for Information Systems (CAIS)
Deadline for Nominations: January 31, 2026
The term of Denis Dennehy and Mary Tate as Co-Editors-in-Chief (EIC) of the Communications of the Association for Information Systems (CAIS) will conclude on May 31, 2026. We are now seeking a successor for an initial three-year term.
CAIS is one of the flagship journals of AIS, dedicated to fostering communication across the IS community by publishing work on a broad range of topics. The journal has a strong tradition of featuring original and influential research, methodological
essays, policy pieces, panel reports, and thoughtful debates.

Selected candidates will be invited to interview via Zoom or a similar platform in February or thereafter. The nomination committee intends to recommend a single nominee to the AIS Council for consideration at its March 2026 meeting. All AIS members are
welcome to submit nominations, and self-nominations are strongly encouraged.
Qualifications for the EIC position include:
• A strong and demonstrated record of research in the field
• Editorial experience at a level involving final decision-making on submissions
• Dedication to CAIS and a compelling vision for strengthening its role as an influential scholarly outlet in the IS community
• A commitment to fostering intellectual diversity and pluralism across topics, methods, genres, viewpoints, and the composition of the editorial board
• The ability to manage the editorial process and oversee electronic journal publishing and dissemination effectively and efficiently
• A willingness to meet the demands of the EIC workload
• Institutional support for the candidate’s service in this role
