ICIS 2019 will be host to the first meeting of a newly created group in AIS, the Doctorly Qualified Practitioners.
The goal of the Doctorly Qualified Practitioners is to encourage collaboration between practitioners with doctoral degrees who are committed to advancing research-based practice in designing, developing, operating, and managing information systems. All AIS members who hold doctoral qualifications and are engaged in IS practice research are invited to join.
Among many goals, the group seeks to conduct conferences and workshops, promote the profession of IS, and other activities deemed appropriate by its members.
The group will focus on all matters of concern to researchers in practice or university settings in the field of IS. Such matters include the creation and dissemination of a body of knowledge; contributing to the promotion and regulation of admission to the profession; improving the educational standards in the profession; participation in various licensure bodies; improving the value and relevance of standards, laws, and regulations relating to the profession; and other matters deemed appropriate by the members.
If you are interested in attending or would like more information, please contact Lars Mathiassen or Richard Baskerville.
