An AIS membership opens the door to many benefits aimed at improving personal careers, creating networks for advanced IS research, providing opportunities to create more inclusive communities and more. For the next few months, AIS will be highlighting the many programs and services the association offers through our Focus on Society. This new program, Focus on Society, will not only highlight the longstanding programs and services our members have grown to expect, but also highlight recent additions to help create a more robust member experience. We invite you to share the ways you have benefitted personally and professionally from your AIS membership in the comments below!
Beginning in 2019, and named after one of the founders of AIS, Ephraim McLean, The Ephraim McLean Membership Scholarship program grants a one-year Doctoral Student membership and a one-year Academic membership to individuals in countries rates in the Medium or Low categories on the Human Development Index. The Doctoral Student membership is awarded each year to support PhD students at universities in countries classified with Medium or Low Human Development Index ratings. The Academic membership is in support of faculty members at universities in countries with Low UN Human Development Index ratings. The awarded memberships include complete access to all AIS membership programs and services including the eLibrary, education resources, and career services. As registration for ICIS 2021 quickly approaches, AIS members are asked to encourage colleagues who might qualify to apply for the Ephraim McLean membership Scholarship program. The application process is open year-round and available at https://aisnet.org/page/McLeanScholarship.
