AIS is excited to offer a wide variety of upcoming events free to both members and non-members! Research Exchange: Anatomy of a Good Paper - Choosing Research Topics The AIS Research Exchange is pleased to present an ongoing series, “The Anatomy of a Good Paper.” The first event in the series will focus on Choosing Research Topics with Robert Davison, Alan Dennis and Amber Young. They will discuss how to choose good and relevant research topics and focus on positioning and motivation to improve the overall contribution to IS research. Additionally, the discussion will focus on the limitations of gap-spotting and the position that research should be meaningful in its academic and practical implications.

Research Exchange: Anatomy of a Good Paper - Writing a Practical Implications & Discussion Section What makes a solid practice-oriented research contribution? Faculty are increasingly asked to increase their impact beyond the confines of their academic discipline. Practice-oriented research is the most direct way to do so. The panel will discuss the many research design and writing choices that lead to an impactful practice-oriented contribution, including topic selection, writing style, rigor and the crafting of timely, actionable and clear recommendations for practicing managers.
