AIS and AACSB MaCuDE project’s IS task force are jointly organizing a virtual IS curriculum webinar. This event celebrates the approval of the IS 2020 undergraduate curriculum recommendation by AIS Council and ACM Education Board and discusses future planned actions based on IS 2020 (including the ongoing maintenance of IS 2020 as a living document).
The webinar also explores the connections between IS 2020 and the AACSB MaCuDE project. The MaCuDE initiative as a whole is developing recommendations regarding the impact of technologies that enable large-scale digital transformation (particularly advanced analytics and AI/machine learning) on management education. The MaCuDE IS task force focuses not only on changes in IS curricula but it also explores the impact of broader business education changes on the IS discipline.
Finally, he webinar analyzes the role big data, analytics and AI have in the IS 2020 context and discusses the ways in which the widespread interest in advanced analytics and AI across business disciplines constitutes both a threat and an opportunity for the IS discipline. The session is designed to be interactive, and the discussion results will contribute to the next phases of both projects.
