Shariga Sivanathan is a doctoral student in Information Systems at the University of Munster and a research associate at the Chair of Digital Innovation and the Public Sector. Her research focuses on digital platforms and digital entrepreneurship in healthcare, particularly in the care sector. She has published in the proceedings of ICIS and AOM. She has reviewed for ECIS, AMCIS, ICIS, AOM, CAIS and JAIS. Additionally, she attended the ICIS 2023 Doctoral Consortium. She currently serves as a Regional Coordinator of the AIS Doctoral Student College (Region 2) and as the Lead Co-Chair of the Doc
1. Why did you originally join AIS, and what has kept you involved?
I joined AIS to be part of a global community in our field and to engage with scholars across different topics. My involvement in the Doctoral Student College has been a great way to connect with and inspire fellow doctoral students.
2. What's a recent professional accomplishment you're proud of?
Being selected for the AIS Entrepreneurial Innovation Fellowship and the Joachim Herz Fellowship are two achievements Im particularly proud of, they continue to strengthen and support my research journey. I would like to take this moment to thank my supervisor Tobias Brandt and my parents, their support was a key factor in making this achievement possible.
3. What's the best career advice you've ever received?
A piece of advice I got from a senior scholar: Always look to do something new that will make the rest of your life look like a footnote!
4. What's a hidden talent, interesting hobby, or fun fact you'd like to share about yourself?
I'm a bit of a tennis fanatic and have received multiple Youth Icon of the Year awards for social service
