1. Why did you originally join AIS, and what has kept you involved?
Being part of a pioneering IS PhD Programme introduced in 2013 at the University of Ghana Business School was a transformative experience that changed my academic trajectory. I was first introduced to AIS by my supervisor, Prof John Effah,
a visionary scholar who has profoundly shaped my thinking and drive in the field. His mentorship opened my eyes to the global IS community and the power of research to create meaningful change. What has kept me deeply involved is my unwavering
passion for advancing Information Systems education in regions where the field remains underrepresented.
2. What's a recent professional accomplishment you're proud of?
Having pioneered the first MIS programmes in Northern Ghana at UDS, I was thrilled to see my PhD student win a competitive travel grant and attend the 2025 AMCIS as their first international conference. This milestone was more than personal
success; it reflected years of building IS capacity in a region where the field was unknown. Watching them present on a global stage, representing not just their work but the potential of an underserved region, validated the struggles
of establishing these programmes and proved IS education can transform communities.
3. What's the best career advice you've ever received?
“Don’t be scared to dare. Try and keep trying.” This philosophy has led me to over 10 contributions at AIS-affiliated conferences over the last decade and empowered me to break new ground in IS education where none existed before.
4. What's a hidden talent, interesting hobby, or fun fact you'd like to share about yourself?
My obsession with virtual reality technology keeps me at the cutting edge of emerging tech, and I love playing with my kids and sometimes with office colleagues. This blend of high-tech fascination and playful spirit energizes me both personally
and professionally.
