1. Why did you originally join AIS, and what has kept you involved?
I first joined AIS as a masters student when I presented my paper at PACIS 2012. I later rejoined for my paper presentation at AMCIS 2017 and have been an active member ever since. What has kept me engaged is the sense of community. Through AIS, I have made friends and felt deeply connected. In particular, I served as a student volunteer (shout-out to Aretha and all the amazing AIS staff!) from ICIS 2017 until 2019, took on multiple roles such as reviewer and associate editor within the community, and attended numerous AIS events. Feeling connected to people has been truly rewarding for me.
2. What's a recent professional accomplishment you're proud of?
My short paper, coauthored with my masters student, won the 2nd runner-up award for Best Short Paper at ECIS 2025. This was both our first ECIS experience and our first conference paper award. Winning alongside my supervised student was especially meaningful to me, and I am truly proud of this achievement. In addition, I was honored to be recognized as an AIS Distinguished Member, which reflects my proactive involvement in and significant contributions to the AIS community.
3. What's the best career advice you've ever received?
Always remember to maintain a healthy work/life balance, even when its difficult.
4. What's a hidden talent, interesting hobby, or fun fact you'd like to share about yourself?
In 2025, I attended all four main AIS conferences in person-ICIS, ECIS, PACIS, and AMCIS (yes, even the one in Jordan), and presented multiple papers. This demonstrates my strong commitment and active involvement in the community.
