27th President of AIS: Patrick Chau

Dr. Patrick Chau assumed the role of Vice Provost for Research and Li Dak Sum Chair in Information Systems and Operations Management at the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) in March 2019. His career spans over two decades, where he held leadership positions at the University of Hong Kong (HKU) and was recognized with the Padma and Hari Harilela Professorship in Strategic Information Management at HKU since 2014.

His research focuses on IT adoption and electronic commerce, resulting in nearly 100 papers in esteemed journals. Dr. Chau's remarkable impact is evidenced by nearly 20,000 citations and an H-index of 54 in Google Scholar. He currently serves as the Editor-in-Chief of I&M and a Senior Editor of JAIS.

Awards and appointments testify to his dedication, including the Chang Jiang Scholar Chair Professorship (the highest academic award given to an individual in higher education by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China) and the Qiushi Chair Professorship at Zhejiang University.

Dr. Chau is a committed AIS member, receiving the AIS Fellow Award in 2013 and being recognized as an AIS Distinguished Member - Cum Laude in 2019. He has held leadership roles in AIS and contributed to AIS publications and conferences.
