Ting-Peng Liang is Professor and Director of the Department of Management Information Systems at the National Chengchi University in Taiwan. He also serves as a Professor in the Department of Information Management at National Sun Yat-sen University.

Liang’s area of study includes electronic commerce, strategic information systems, intelligent systems and neural information systems.

Alan R. Dennis

Alan R. Dennis is Professor of Information Systems and holds the John T. Chambers Chair of Internet Systems in the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. He was named a Fellow of the Association for Information Systems in 2012. He has written more than 150 research papers, and has won numerous awards for his theoretical and applied research. His research focuses on three main themes: team collaboration; IT for the subconscious; and digital innovation. He is Editor-in-Chief of AIS Transactions on Replication Research, and Editor-in-Chief of Foundations and Trends in Information Systems.

Some AIS related projects include helping to establish conference policies and procedures; helping to select conference locations and leadership teams; and leading the task forces aimed at re-designing AMCIS and ICIS.

Matti Rossi

Matti Rossi is a professor of information systems at Aalto University School of Business in Helsinki, Finland. He has previously served as Region 2 Representative on AIS Council and as Editor-in-Chief of CAIS. He has served as conference co-chair of DESRIST 2008 and 2013 and program co-chair of ECIS 2011 and 2016.

He is also a minority owner and a former board member of MetaCase Consulting and has served as a board member at QT Company, a publicly traded company selling open source software for the automotive industry.

Jason Thatcher

Dr. Jason Thatcher is a Professor of Information Systems at University of Alabama and is the founder of the Social Analytics Institute (SAI). Thatcher serves as a Senior Editor at MIS Quarterly, Decision Sciences, and AIS Transactions on Human Computer Interaction. He has served on the editorial boards of Information Systems Research, Journal of the AIS, European Journal of Information Systems, Information Technology and People and other journals.

Beyond professional groups and journals, Thatcher’s service focuses on developing Ph.D. students. He has led placement workshops at AMCIS, served on the planning committee for the ISDSA PhD Project, and published on career management issues in CAIS. He is a member of the Circle of Compadres for contributions to mentoring minority Ph.D. students in Information Systems and related STEM disciplines.

Dr. Shu Schiller is Professor and Department Chair of Information Systems & Supply Chain Management (ISSCM) in the Raj Soin College of Business at Wright State University. She holds a Ph.D. in Management Information Systems from the Fox School of Business at Temple University.

Dr. Schiller’s research is motivated by the possibilities to improve and advance

communication and collaboration in today’s highly networked society. Most of her research focuses on computer-mediated communication, virtual teams, digital media, data analytics, and e-learning. Her recent teaching focuses on Strategic Information Systems, Data Analytics and Visualization. She believes that scholarly work should improve our insights and provide meaningful and relevant suggestions for actions that can change the world we live in.

Vishal Midha

Vishal Midha is an associate professor of Business Information Systems at Illinois State University. He holds a Ph.D. in Management Information Systems from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro. Prior to joining ISU, he was with the University of Texas system, where he received several awards including Teaching Excellence Awards. His research has been published in Information Systems Research (ISR), Decision Support Systems (DSS), Communications of the AIS (CAIS), and International Journal of Electronic Commerce (IJEC), and others.

Ritu Agarwal is Senior Associate Dean for Research, Professor and the Robert H. Smith Dean’s Chair of Information Systems at the Robert H. Smith School of Business, University of Maryland, College Park. She is also the founder and Director of the Center for Health Information and Decision Systems at the Smith School.

Dr. Agarwal has published over 100 papers on health informatics and information technology management topics in journals such as Information Systems Research, MIS Quarterly, Management Science, Communications of the ACM, Journal of Management Information Systems, Health Affairs, Journal of the American Medical Informatics Association, and IEEE Transactions, and has made presentations at a variety of national and international conferences. She was a Co-Chair for the 2017 International Conference on Information Systems, in Seoul, South Korea.

Lise Fitzpatrick

Lise Fitzpatrick is the AIS Chief Operating Officer. The Chief Operating Officer collaborates with the AIS Associate Executive Director and reports to the AIS President. As the COO, Lise manages the day to day operations in the AIS office and oversees management of all staff.

The COO position maintains a strategic view of operations with functions including:

  • Ensure effective and efficient day to day operations of AIS that are responsive to member needs
  • Coordinate balancing of responsibilities, tasks and projects among AIS staff and contractors
  • Drive tactical association operations with the strategies as outlined by Council
  • Vendor contract oversight
  • Lead efforts in all marketing campaigns and conference exhibitor sales pursuits
  • Supports all Conference Chairs in efforts towards in the success of annual conferences
  • Participates in weekly Leadership meetings and quarterly Council meetings

Petter is currently the Region 1 Representative of the Association for Information Systems. She is also the Chair of the Americas Conference on Information Systems (AMCIS) Executive Committee. Traci A. Carte is on the faculty at the Michael J. Coles College of Business at Kennesaw State University. She received her Ph.D. in MIS from the University of Georgia. Her primary research focus is on leveraging technology to deliver better outcomes for diverse teams. Professor Carte’s award-winning research has been published in such journals as Information Systems Research, MIS Quarterly, Journal of the AIS, Group Decision and Negotiation, Decision Support Systems, Database Advances and numerous national and international conference proceedings, and has been cited more than 2000 times. She served as a co-program chair for ICIS 2015, has served as a mini track chair at AMCIS numerous times. is a previous Senior Fulbright Scholar, currently serves on the editorial board of JAIS, and is an MIS Senior Scholar.
