2024 Edition of IS Researcher Rankings Service Now Available

AIS Research Ranking Services has recently been refreshed to now include data from 1990-2023. AIS members can register for free to the service, which tracks publications in eight leading IS journals. The service functions as a useful tool in assessing scholars’ progress toward promotion and tenure, providing decision-makers the information needed to set standards for faculty productivity, tenure, hiring and promotion, salary and more.

The ranking features highlights include:

• University rankings by different regions (Americas, Europe/Africa, Asia/Australia)
• University rankings using 2 different rankings methods
• University rankings using various combinations of journals
• University rankings using various time windows
• Author rankings using 4 different rankings methods
• Top-200 rankings
• Secure HTTPS (SSL) website
• Data from 1990 to 2023

With research support from Viswanath Venkatesh, the AIS Research Ranking Service aids the IS community in evaluating the research productivity of universities and faculty members through their publications in eight of the field’s top journals.

The 2023 service is based on the AIS Senior Scholars’ basket of eight journals and does not yet incorporate the three new journals recently added to establish the AIS Senior Scholars’ List of Premier Journals. Future editions of the rankings are expected to include these newly added journals, with data from 2024 moving forward.­­
