- Serving as a steward of the journal by boosting readership, developing future authors, promoting published work, and/or improving its ranking in journal indices.
- Work closely with the AIS council and VP of Publications to formulate journal strategy, publication policies, and fine-tune performance metrics when appropriate.
- Communicate clearly, courteously, and promptly with authors, editors, reviewers, and editorial office staff.
- Cooperate with editorial office staff to ensure timely publication of accepted articles, roll out effective marketing initiatives, and streamline workflows throughout the production process.
- Serve as the international ambassador for the journal by assuming leadership and liaison roles within the global constituency of the journal.
All AIS members are invited to nominate candidate(s). Qualifications for the EIC position include:
- Exemplary record of research in the field of information systems.

- Ability to effectively and efficiently manage the editorial process and electronic journal publishing and marketing.
- Commitment to the EIC workload.

Please submit nominations with a brief statement of the candidate’s qualifications to the committee chair by no later than Wednesday, January 31, 2024. Self-nominations are accepted.
