The AIS Student Chapter Leadership Conference (SCLC) and Competitions connect your undergraduate and master’s students with information systems students, faculty, and corporate representatives from around the world. Students will build relationships with peers with similar interests while sharing best practices on operating and funding chapters, learning how to connect with recruiters, increasing membership, and member involvement. This year the conference will be hosted by Florida International University in Miami, FL, USA from March 30 – April 1, 2023.
“After three years of meeting virtually, we are excited to return to an in-person AIS Student Chapter Leadership Conference this year in Miami, FL, USA!” says AIS Associate Vice President of Student Chapters, Alex Barsi Lopes. “SCLC 2023, which is being hosted by Florida International University, will give undergraduate and masters students, as well as faculty members, the opportunity to gain new perspectives, expand professional skill sets, and make lasting friendships with peers and faculty. We look forward to seeing you all participate in the competitions, student-led panels, industry-led discussions and workshops.”
One of the greatest benefits of attending the AIS Student Chapter Leadership is the opportunity to participate in the competitions. AIS Student Chapter competitions provide students opportunities to learn, observe and develop their skills with current industry leaders. The aim is to allow students to take their classroom knowledge and apply it to real-life situations they might face in the workforce. Competitions are in high demand and these competitions include a variety of tracks relevant to the field of information systems. Visit the AIS Student Chapters website for competition details. Only members of current AIS Student Chapters may compete in the 2023 competitions. Unsure if your university has an AIS Student Chapter? See the list of current chapters.
In addition to participating in competitions, AIS Student Chapter members are also invited to submit proposals to present conference panels in person. Student-led panels provide a career-enhancing professional experience and an opportunity to share with fellow student leaders.
