AIS is excited to welcome the Tunisia Chapter of the Association for Information Systems (TunAISia) to the AIS community. The TunAISia chapter aims to promote communication, interaction and collaboration among researchers in Tunisia and abroad, as well as among local researchers in the IS field within the international IS community. The TunAISia chapter seeks to foster collaboration between the Tunisian research communities in IS and computer science and their international counterparts in research areas such as IoT, AI and machine learning, as well as business analytics and cognitive computing and aspires to raise the presence of the Tunisian IS community within the global IS research community. The chapter strives for equity and inclusion.
“I have the pleasure of welcoming the TunAISia Chapter as our newest AIS Community,” said Isabel Ramos, AIS Vice President of Membership and Chapters. “This is an excellent opportunity for IS scholars and interdisciplinary researchers in the region to foster collaboration with one another while gaining accessibility to research output from our global membership.”
Approved as an official chapter of AIS by the AIS Council in December 2022, the chapter’s short-term goals are:
- Reach out to the research community in MIS and associated research fields in Tunisia through research units at local universities and PhD students.
- Organize online research circles for researchers with common or complementary research interest.
- Organize an online conference to create the opportunity to interact with researchers from different backgrounds. The event will be open for submissions from Tunisia and from all other countries to foster international collaboration and open new research collaboration opportunities.
The chapter, located in AIS Region 2, has been established under honorary president Moez Limayem of the University of North Florida and honorary vice president Tawfik Jelassi of International Institute for Management Development. The chapter will be led by TunAISia chapter president Rim Faiz Zitouni of IHEC Carthage and co-president Faiez Gargouri of University of Sfax. Other members of the chapter leadership team include Imed Boughzala, treasurer, Institut Mines-Telecom Business School; Malek Ghenima, treasurer, ESCE - High School of Electronic Commerce; Chaker Essid, communication lead (Tunisia and Africa), ENIT- National Engineering School Tunis; Narjes Bellamine Ben Saoud, communication lead (English speaking educators and researchers), University of Mannouba; Nabila Boukef Charki, communication lead (French speaking educators and researchers), SKEMA Business School; and Sana Rouis Skandrani, secretary, Karlstad University.
