Recently, MIS Quarterly Executive joined five other AIS journals to become Green Open Access, which allows authors to immediately self-archive their articles without an embargo period. As an independent, self-publishing, member-based association, AIS is years ahead of for-profit publishing houses with author-friendly policies, including Green Open Access.
Through these author-friendly policies, AIS is able to provide quality research articles and intellectual equity to the entire field of Information Systems.
AIS’s self-archiving option pertains to the version of the article that received the official acceptance letter from the editor after successfully passing peer review (i.e., post-print or Author’s Accepted Manuscript) or the final, official published version after the publisher has copy-edited, formatted and distributed it (i.e., version of record). Authors may self-archive the version of their research article that they choose on their website, or on a publicly-accessible institutional or subject-based repository.
