More than 190 students and faculty members representing 31 universities in 7 countries registered for the online conference.
Students participated in breakout sessions featuring industry professionals, attended leadership workshops held by fellow students, and competed in two unique competitions aimed at putting their classroom knowledge to work to solve real-world social problems.
“The student response to the competitions was fantastic this year! For our AIS Software Competition, the students presented on topics ranging from increasing women in STEM to providing supplies to those in need in Ukraine,” said Alex Barsi Lopes, Associate Vice President of AIS Student Chapters. “We are so thankful to everyone at Microsoft for hosting the Microsoft Analytics Challenge. Our students did an amazing job using analytics tools for sustainability solutions.”
The AIS Software Innovation Challenge encouraged students to demonstrate the impact that IS can have in improving the world in which we all live. Using the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, teams were tasked with improving society with a focus on ending poverty, protecting the planet, and ensuring prosperity. Winners included:
