During the March 2022 Council Meeting, the Special Interest Group on Business Processes and Services (SIG BPS) was approved to reorganize as SIG Blockchain Innovations and Technologies (SIG BIT). This reorganized community creates a platform for AIS researchers and practitioners who are interested in blockchain technologies.
SIG BIT creates a unique community for researchers and practitioners interested in research directions in the area of blockchain technologies and blockchain-driven innovations, such as Web3.0, DeFi, and NFT. The purpose of the SIG is to promote the exchange of ideas, experiences, and knowledge among scholars and professionals interested in said area of research.
“We are planning the inaugural SIG BIT Workshop on Blockchain Innovations and Technologies as an ancillary conference of ICIS 2022 and an online SIG BIT seminar series where guest speakers from academia and industry will be invited to share their experience and expertise on various SIGBIT related topics,” said SIG BIT President, Professor Harry Wang. “Learn more and join by visiting https://sigbit.org/.”
Professor Leon Zhao founded SIG Business Processes and Services (SIG BPS) and the SIG’s focus had been trending toward blockchain related research. This reorganization will help the SIG to keep up with research trends and emerging technologies within blockchain research.
