The Association for Information Systems (AIS) is committed to leading and promoting excellence in information systems education and scholarship and strives to cultivate a community by providing services and products to meet the diverse needs of members and related communities. As such, every AIS member agrees to uphold the general ethical principles, professional responsibilities, and professional leadership principles outlined in the Member Code of Conduct and the Research Code of Conduct.
The Member Code of Conduct requires every member of AIS to adhere to the values of equality, tolerance, respect for others, and justice in all that we do. The Research Code of Conduct provides a reference point for members of the profession of information research and includes guidance on acceptable publishing practices.

The Member Conduct Committee considers and investigates allegations and complaints of member misconduct. The Research Conduct Committee considers allegations of scholarly misconduct, and especially plagiarism. In either case, the Committee may recommend to the President and/or AIS Council actions to help remedy the situation or to apply sanctions (if applicable). Sanctions may include censure, membership suspension or expulsion.Sanctions may include membership expulsion, suspension or censure.

While this reporting system does not replace reporting requirements that your university may require, members may also choose to report possible violations of these policies through the third-party reporting system. The online incident reporting system, managed by NAVEX Global’s EthicsPoint system, will enhance reporting efficiency and empower members to promote safety, security, and professionalism within the field. In situations where it may be more appropriate to file an anonymous report, members may do so in confidence using the reporting site hosted by EthicsPoint as a third-party provider. The information provided will be sent to AIS by EthicsPoint on a confidential basis and anonymously (if requested).

How to File a Member Code of Conduct or Research Code of Conduct Infringement Report
Because AIS believes all reports should remain anonymous, a website has been created that is separate from the AIS membership website to assure anonymity throughout the reporting process. Reports related to potential violations of the AIS Member Code of Conduct and AIS Research Code of Conduct may be submitted confidentially and anonymously through the third-party NAVEX EthicsPoint online reporting platform. Please visit conduct.aisnet.org for additional information about the process and how to file a report.
