AIS Welcomes New Council Members & Associate Vice Presidents

AIS is pleased to welcome new positions of leadership to assist the association. 

Sabine Matook, Ph.D. from the University of Queensland in Australia has accepted the position of AIS Council Secretary.  This is one of the most important roles on AIS Council as it enables continuity of the Association in quarterly AIS Council meetings and coordination of the annual AIS Elections.  We extend our sincere Thanks to Shu Schiller for serving as AIS Council Secretary for the past three years.  Sabine’s three-year term begins on September 1, 2021, but she and Shu will begin transitioning activities during the next two Council meetings.

Angela Jackson-Summers, Ph.D., PMP, CISA, CBCP from United States Coast Guard Academy has accepted the position of Associate Vice President (AVP) Technology.  This position will focus on evaluating potential Association Management Systems (AMS) functionality, needs assessments and fit in AIS moving forward.  The AMS serves as the backbone system in the Association and Angela’s extensive IT industry experience coupled with her Academic career makes her an outstanding fit with this critically important role.  This is a two-year appointment beginning April 1, 2021.

Eleanor Loiacono, Ph.D., from William and Mary has accepted the position of AIS VP of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. This position will focus on developing and managing programs to support the practice of diversity, equity, and inclusion within the association. This position will also coordinate with the AIS Leadership Team and AIS VP of Membership to ensure equitable opportunities for engagement across all programs to meet the association’s strategic goals. The AIS AVP of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion serve as an ambassador for AIS diversity, equity and inclusion programs to internal (association council, committees, and members) and external (prospective members and potential volunteers) audiences.

Michael Rosemann, Ph.D., FACS, FQA, MAICD, from Queensland University of Technology has accepted the position of AIS VP of Strategic Partnerships.  This outward looking position on AIS Council will help overseeing sponsorship development efforts across the Association, as well as the pursuit strategic partnerships that can benefit AIS members and member services.  We extend our sincere Thanks to James Ma, Ph.D. from University of Colorado for serving in this position for the past two years.  Michael’s term is a three-year appointment beginning April 1, 2021.
