AIS has created a Forum on Coronavirus and Higher Education, where members can discuss the virus and its global impact on higher education and the Information Systems community. The AIS Forum on Coronavirus and Higher Education is a unique opportunity to turn this crisis into a sharing opportunity for related research and teaching as well as  reflections of the current situation and speculation on the future. While the pandemic is not forever, we believe it will have a long-lasting impact on how technology is used in many aspects of higher education.

“The pandemic will end and will leave behind a new set of technologies and social structures,” said AIS President Alan Dennis. “We will have new customs and new ways of working that will persist long after “the pandemic is a fading memory. In the future, we will more carefully choose how we work together, having learned that face-to-face is not the ‘normal’ way of working together.”

In addition to the discussion area, the forum includes a resources library which gathers links to news articles, calls for submissions, videos, teaching materials, research surveys and other resources related to the forum's focus.
AIS encourages members to join the conversation by replying to posts and creating posts of their own. AIS members are asked to keep their posts under 500 words and relate them to the “Covid-19 and Higher Education theme.” Members are encouraged to share success stories, proposals, and well thought out predictions.

The initial curators of the forum include Dennis Galletta, Blake Ives  Dick Mason, John Mooney, Munir Mandviwalla, Jason Thatcher, and Richard Watson.  They welcome volunteers willing to help curate particular components of the resource.

AIS looks forward to seeing its community work together during this difficult time. Visit the Forum today.
