AMCIS 2018 is quickly approaching and we are very excited to welcome the best and brightest in the field of information systems to the Crescent City! New Orleans is a vibrant metropolis with unique music, food, nightlife and culture that disrupts the status quo when one thinks of a typical American city.
AMCIS 2018 will focus on Digital Disruption and how emerging digital advances transform existing business models, value propositions, and goods and services. Much like how Digital Disruption transforms the status quo, we invite you to transform your own AMCIS experience by going ‘all in’ with us and experiencing everything AMCIS has to offer!
The AMCIS conference philosophy is to create an event with high quality networking opportunities, high quality research that is engaging, thought provoking, and pushes the boundaries of the field, community-based programming that ensures SIGs play a critical role in the development of all programmatic elements, and professional development opportunities for attendees at all levels of their career.
To take full advantage of the AMCIS philosophy, we invite attendees to be sure to include the following in their conference experience:
1. Stay at the official AMCIS 2018 hotel. By staying at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans, not only will you receive a special discounted AMCIS rate, but you will also be in the heart of the conference where you can easily network, access programming, and participate in all of the events AMCIS has to offer.
2. Attend Emergent Research Forum (ERF) presentations. Emergent Research papers give attendees the opportunity to see what is on the horizon of information systems, understand research trends, and explore future research opportunities.
3. Add a workshop to your registration. SIGs not only play a crucial role in the tracks offered at AMCIS, but they also provide additional workshops and hands-on experiences to incorporate concepts into business models, curriculum building and more.
4. Gather with those at your same career level. Whether you’re a doctoral student finding your footing or are a senior scholar, AMCIS has consortia geared toward all levels of seniority. Check out the Doctoral Student Corner, Junior Faculty Consortium, or Mid-Career Faculty Consortium to sign up today.
In addition to these important networking and research opportunities, AMCIS is also centered on having fun! The welcome and social event will feature lively bands, good food and even better company! Join us down on the bayou and Laissez les bons temps rouler!
