AIS published its third Global IS Education Report which offers members a view of the growth of information system curriculum offered around the world. As technology expand, the demand for professionals with a background in information systems continues to grow.
The entire IS community helped to gather the data available in this year’s report including both individuals and 530 institutions who have registered to be a part of this community. In the past year, 90 institutions joined, involving a total of 63 countries, making AIS a globally concerned association which values diversity. As of Nov. 30, 2017, the registered educational institutions offered more than 3,100 courses in more than 940 programs.
The study of information systems is an ever-growing field involved in the design, use and impact of information systems among organizations. As technology continues to expand, the community of IS professionals strives to provide a positive and sustainable user experience.
The AIS Global IS Education Report was made possible by Magdalena Eggarter, Stefan Fleischer, Michael Gau, Marina Hagen-Canaval, Christina Mathis and Isabell Wohlgennt. Readers can access the report at https://eduglopedia.org/ais-global-is-education-report-2018-syllabus.
