AIS Announces 2017 Council Election Results

The Association for Information Systems is happy to announce the results of the 2017 Council Elections. New Council members will join the AIS Council on July 1, 2017.

The results of the election are as follows:

President-elect (Region 3) – T.P. Liang, National Sun Yat-sen University Taiwan

VP of Education – Heikki Topi, Bentley University

Region 1 Representative – Stacie Petter – Baylor University 

The following positions have been appointed to AIS Council:

Treasurer – Vishal Midha, Illinois State University

VP of Student Chapters – Rhonda Syler, University of Arkansas 

ICIS Representative – John Mooney, Pepperdine University

Runners up included President-elect - Robert M. Davison, City University of Hong Kong and Walter Fernandez, University of New South Wales; VP of Education - Nassim Belbaly, Montpellier Business School and Rhonda Syler, University of Arkansas; Region 1 Representative - Martin Santana Ormeno, ESAN University and David A. Tilson, University of Rochester.

A special thank you to the Nominating Committee members for their work in selecting candidates, all candidates who ran for office, and the membership of AIS for voting to shape the future of AIS.
