| Nominating Committee Seeks Qualified Candidates Monday, January 12, 2015
 
			
			 From: Mary Jones, AIS Council Secretary The Nominating Committee for the 2015 elections has been formed and will be assembling a ballot early in 2015. The members of the nominating committee and their regional affiliations are as follows: 
    Jae Kyu Lee, Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (President-elect) Jane Fedorowicz, Bentley University (R1) Olivia Sheng, University of Utah (R1) Eric van Heck, Erasmus University Rotterdam (R2) Nava Pliskin, Ben-Gurion University of Negev (R2) Patrick Chau, The University of Hong Kong (R3) Rob Kauffman, Singapore Management University (R3) Pete Tinsley, AIS Executive Director (non-voting, ex-officio, staff liaison) The committee’s charge this year is to assemble a high quality slate of candidates for the following open positions: 
    President-Elect (must come from Region 1)Vice President of Meetings and ConferencesVice President of Member ServicesRegion 1 Representative  The responsibilities for each position are described in the Bylaws that can be found at:http://ais.site-ym.com/?AISBylaws#Bylaw6 Candidates for all positions must be members in good standing and should have experience/skills that would qualify them for the particular responsibilities of the opening. All candidates must be able to attend four Council meetings annually. Two of the meetings are usually held face-to-face at ICIS and either ECIS or PACIS, so the individual will need his/her own resources to finance the associated travel. (AIS provides limited financial assistance for travel on a need-basis.) Depending on the position, active members of Council spend approximately 8-10 hours per month fulfilling their volunteer duties.
