| The Top Most Desirable Destinations for Future AIS Conferences Tuesday, April 29, 2014

Last month, AIS issued a survey to its members in order to
learn more about some of the destinations that appeal to them for future
conferences.  We had a large tally of
respondents who not only let us know where they would like to go for AMCIS and
ICIS, but also some of the reasons behind their choices.  Many people considered weather, proximity,
cost, attractions, curiosity, and more.
We learned a lot about what types of cities attract our members, and we
are happy to share the top five choices for both AMCIS and ICIS below: Based
on this survey, the top 5 most desirable destinations for AMCIS are: #1
– Chicago#2 – Boston
 #3 – New York City
 #4 – San Francisco
 #5 – Rio de Janeiro
 Based
on this survey, the top 5 most desirable destinations for ICIS are: #1
– London#2 – New York City
 #3 – Singapore
 #4 – Tokyo
 #5 – Paris
 Please
note that the Site Advisory Committee of the ICIS Executive Committee is now
accepting preliminary bids from those who are interested in chairing ICIS 2018,
which will be held in Region 1 (Americas).
Conference chairs needn’t be local in order to submit a bid for a
particular city, and they should not contact any hotels/venues or visitor
bureaus (AIS staff will handle the logistics).
If you are interested in submitting a bid, please review the bid
procedures (https://ais.site-ym.com/?ICISSiteSelection),
and then the bid form (https://ais.site-ym.com/?ICISIntenttoBid).  All preliminary bids are due by June 1, 2014. If
you have any questions, please reach out to the members of the Site Advisory
Committee for ICIS 2018: CynthiaBeathChair, Site Advisory Committee for ICIS 2018
