Friday, February 28 & Saturday, March 1, 2014, Pittsburgh, PA USA
Conference Website
The Undergraduate Conference in Information Systems (UCIS) is designed
as a forum for undergraduate students with an interest in Information
Systems to present their work and engage in relevant discussions with
peers, faculty and experts in the field from around the world. This
conference is a chapter conference of the Association for Information
Systems (AIS) and is hosted by Carnegie Mellon University, which is well
known for its vibrant research environment.
Submissions in line with the conference theme, "Information
Communication Technologies (ICT) in the Enterprise and Beyond,” are
encouraged. Over the past several years, innovations in information and
communication technology (ICT) have changed the way we do business,
interact and communicate (both professionally and socially), engage in
commerce, and receive government services. The field of ICT has been
promising to revolutionize our lives in both small and large ways.
Although some big promises have been fulfilled, the impact of these ICT
solutions needs to be examined and evaluated. Why were some solutions
successful and others were not? How can solutions be improved? Why have
some of the other promised changes not materialized? What are current
issues and concerns with ICT locally, regionally, and globally? The hope
is that this forum can be used to discuss the promises and capabilities
of ICT and how it can be used to improve organizations, while also
considering its possible negative impacts and failures. Ultimately, as
future leaders, we all seek to understand what can be done to both
create awareness of and to improve the use and implementation of ICT
around the world.
