Pankaj Nagpal
Assistant Professor

Dr. Pankaj Nagpal is an Assistant Professor at the Neil Griffin College of Business in Arkansas State University. He teaches Artificial Intelligence/AI and IT Strategy courses, as also an IT Audit course. He has presented his work at national level conferences
such as ICIS, and published in quality journals in IS and other fields. Dr. Nagpal has served as a reviewer and discussant at national and international conferences. He also holds the CISA certification awarded by ISACA. Prior to academia, he
worked in US and India. Founding team member of Kantar/WPP company’s regional office. Prospected and developed new client relationships, interacting cross functionally with specialists and C-level client executives. Worked across categories to
address growth and profitability issues of Global Fortune 100 clients. He continues to engage with the industry, through ISACA chapters. He holds an undergraduate degree from the Indian Institute of Technology.
1. Why did you originally join AIS, and what has kept you involved?
I joined in order to attend AMCIS and present my first year paper when at the PhD program at Case Western Reserve University/CWRU. I have been involved to keep up to date with IS and AI related developments in academia and practice.
2. What's a recent professional accomplishment you're proud of?
I presented a TREO talk at the recent AMCIS in Montreal, Que. It is a collaboration with a Fortune 500 Chief Data Officer (CDO) on data and AI governance. 3. What's the best career advice you've ever received?
"When in doubt, go." Advice during my first RA at CWRU on whether to attend a seminar or presentation.
4. What's a hidden talent, interesting hobby, or fun fact you'd like to share about yourself?
I am active in yoga and other exercises, as well documented on my LinkedIn. Also travel to India regularly, and work to promote US education to international audiences.
