The Association for Information Systems is excited to welcome the French Chapter to the ranks of AIS Communities after receiving approval from the Council in mid-March. The purpose of the French Chapter is to link IS scholars from French speaking countries to create more interactions and nurter strong research relationships.
Led by chapter president Nassim Belbaly from the Montpellier Business School, the French Chapter will serve French-speaking countries including but not limited to France, Belgium, Switzerland, North Africa and Canada. The chapter will promote the exchange of professional communications among scholars and professionals responsible for education, design, implementation and management of IS in both private and public organizations.
“The AIS Council is extremely excited to welcome this chapter to the ranks of the association,” said Ryan Wright, VP of Membership for AIS. “The idea of encompassing so many locations centered around a commonality like language is a great model for current chapters to expand their reach, as well as encourage others to form new chapters. We are very thankful for the leadership demonstrated by Professor Belbaly and his colleagues in seeing this chapter come to fruition.”
Other members of the French Chapter leadership team include Amandine Pascal as vice president, Nicolas Poussing as treasurer, and Aurelie Girard as secretary. The team will receive additional support from Hind Benbya, Alexandre Renaud, Marc Bidan, Frantz Rowe, Christophe Elie Dit Cosaque and Carine Dominguez Perry.
The goals of the French Chapter of AIS include increasing the visibility of the French-speaking community, creating more relationships between researchers, and increasing chapter membership through various activities like research events, pre-conference workshops and more.
