Junior Faculty Consortium (MIS Camp)
Charting a Course for Smooth Sailing in your Academic Career

The Junior Faculty Consortium is a professional development/enrichment experience for early career-stage faculty, starting the first, second or third year of their first academic faculty appointment. The Consortium is an opportunity for junior faculty to engage with a team of senior faculty mentors through a variety of interactive exercises and activities designed to provide guidance and share insights gained over years of experience and success. The main goal of the Junior Faculty Consortium is to tap the collective wisdom of some of our most successful seasoned colleagues to help the upcoming generation set their sails toward successful and productive career journeys of their own. The deadline to register is June 15.

Mid-Career Workshop

Mid-career tenured and/or associate professors comprise over half of the faculty in higher education. They are the back-bone of their institutions; they produce more published articles, teach more students, and participate in more service activities than faculty at any other career stage.

This peer-led workshop is specifically for mid-career faculty and is appropriate for any faculty member who has received tenure and/or promotion to Associate Professor.

Doctoral Student Corner

The doctoral student corner is a dedicated space for doctoral students attending the conference to orient themselves to the AMCIS experience and to connect to others in the field. This space will be available throughout the conference to provide a place for doctoral students to network and relax between conference events. We encourage doctoral students of all levels to register for this free ancillary event when registering for AMCIS 2016.

AIS is pleased to partner with Plus One Meetings to offer families options for infants and children during AMCIS 2016. We will offer on-site care and activities during an exciting three-day program with additional pre- and post-conference options. The deadline to register is June 24.

AMCIS Social Event

The AMCIS 2016 Social Event will be located on the beautiful San Diego Bay, just a short walk adjacent to the Sheraton's property. We will celebrate the end of a great conference by enjoying the ocean breeze and watching the sunset at the east end of Spanish Landing Park.

There will be musicians, cocktails, and a variety of food trucks for you to choose from. Plenty of seating will be available for dining with ample space to move about and network with your colleagues before departing.

With the close proximity to the hotel, we hope you will stop by for networking, good food, entertainment, and beautiful views of the San Diego Bay.

Spanish Landing Park is a historical landmark, the site commemorates the 1769 meeting of the Gaspar DePortola and Father Junipero Serra expeditions.
