Would you like a hint that could save you days (maybe weeks) on your next paper?  Go to MineMyText to see the full text analysis on the Senior Scholars Basket of 8 journals!

The College of Senior Scholars consists of senior information systems academics who have served as editors-in-chief of the journals listed in the College of Senior Scholars basket of eight journals, which include:

  • European Journal of Information Systems
  • Information Systems Journal
  • Information Systems Research
  • Journal of AIS
  • Journal of Information Technology
  • Journal of MIS
  • Journal of Strategic Information Systems
  • MIS Quarterly

We have mined the full texts of the "basket" to uncover key topics of the discipline, each represented by a word co-occurrence pattern (click here to learn more about the methodology). Go to MineMyText to see the full analysis.

The last update to the resource was Sept. 8, 2015. Are there updates planned in the future and/or is there a schedule to updates?

Thanks to AIS for providing this text mining resource. Since this is a work in progress, I want to offer a question that might challenge some researchers. Using Google Chrome's "find" function I searched for information, system, and information system across the page that listed the 130 items (core term plus most frequently related terms) that organized key concepts from the Senior Scholars' Basket of Eight. .... "Information" appeared only once, in a sentence at the top of the page ... "System" appeared twice, in the same sentence, and as part of "ecosystem" within topic 34. .... "information system" appeared only in the same sentence. While the main purpose of this effort is to help in finding articles in 8 journals, information, system, and information system are important topics. Is it possible to extend this tool in relation to meanings instead of word frequencies, which highlighted everyday terms such as use, new, one, time, and change? - Steve Alter
