The AIS Student Chapter Leadership Conference (SCLC) 2026 will take place at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia from March 26 to 27, 2026, bringing together students from around the world for learning, networking, and hands-on problem solving. A centerpiece of the event is the set of dynamic competitions designed to help undergraduate and graduate students sharpen their technical and strategic skills. The JMU planning team is pleased to share details about this year’s four tracks:

•   Artificial Intelligence: AI Driven Talent Optimization, Sponsored by EY

This challenge asks participants to design an AI-driven talent strategy agent that can match skills to roles, create personalized upskilling plans, and offer fair, transparent, and privacy-minded recommendations for large organizations.

This challenge invites participants to build a business analytics solution that turns Data.gov datasets into clear visual insights, predictive models, and actionable recommendations to guide decision-makers.

This challenge asks participants to perform an IT audit for a fictional bank by identifying key cybersecurity risks in its aging systems and delivering practical recommendations to strengthen security and meet regulatory requirements.

This challenge invites participants to assess the cybersecurity risks and recommend practical, cost-effective safeguards to help protect critical infrastructure that supports major data centers.
