On September 24, 2025, AIS Council approved the ICIS Executive Committee’s suggestion to host ICIS 2029 in Sydney, Australia, reflecting AIS’s continued commitment to convening our global community across regions that are shaping the future of information systems.

Sydney is a hub of research excellence, industry partnership, and cultural vibrancy. Set on one of the world’s most recognizable harbors, the city pairs iconic venues with a thriving technology ecosystem, leading universities, and outstanding hospitality. Attendees will find an inspiring setting for professional networking and collaboration with practitioners from around the globe.

Bringing ICIS to Sydney strengthens AIS’s engagement across the Asia–Pacific region and invites participation from a broad spectrum of researchers and professionals. Hosting the conference in Australia will create opportunities to explore regional challenges and solutions, connect with local leaders, and surface new perspectives that advance the IS field worldwide.
