AIS Communities contribute to the field of information systems through catering to specialized areas of study, geographic locations, and similar professional interests. The Outstanding Community designation celebrates the exceptional work of AIS Communities
and their contributions toward supporting the mission of AIS through the advancement of knowledge and the promotion of excellence in the practice and study of information systems.
“SIGs and Colleges are very important for many AIS members, who consider such communities to be their 'intellectual families' that nurture young researchers and advance research around topics at the heart of their work, " said Julia Kotlarsky, AIS
Vice President of SIGs and Colleges. "We are excited to recognize these outstanding communities and their contributions to our field.”
AIS Vice President of Member Services and Chapters Isabel Ramos added, “AIS Chapters are the heartbeat of our global community, transforming the mission of AIS into meaningful local action. Outstanding Chapters promote excellence in research, education, and practice and cultivate vibrant ecosystems where academics, professionals, and students connect, grow, and lead the future of the Information Systems field.”
