Nominating Committee Seeks Qualified Candidates for 2024 Council Elections

The Nominating Committee for the 2024 Council Elections will assemble a ballot early in 2024. The committee’s charge this year is to assemble a high-quality slate of candidates for the following open positions:

• AIS President-Elect (Region 1)
  
• AIS Vice President of Education
• AIS Vice President of Communications
• AIS Vice President SIGs and Colleges

The responsibilities for each position are listed in the Bylaws that can be found at: https://aisnet.org/page/AISBylaws (Bylaw 6)

In accordance with the AIS Bylaw Section 7.3. E. Nominating Procedure. All nominees, whether selected by the Nominating Committee or via petition, should review the qualifications described in AIS Bylaw Section 7.3 to be on the final ballot.  

AIS Council meets four times annually. Two meetings are virtual (March and September), the other two are in the summer, and one is in December. Barring global issues preventing us from meeting face-to-face, we hope to continue in person and offer a hybrid option for those unable to travel. Depending on the position, active members of the Council spend approximately 8-10 hours per month fulfilling their volunteer duties.
