 The Association for Information Systems (AIS) is actively seeking enthusiastic individuals to apply for the leadership position of Associate Vice President (AVP) for Student Chapters. The chosen candidate will be appointed by the AIS President and will serve a three-year term, extending until August 31, 2026. The role of the AIS AVP for Student Chapters is pivotal in driving the growth and vitality of the AIS Student Chapter program throughout the association. Currently occupying the role with dedication is Alex Barsi Lopes from Indiana University, who has significantly shaped the program during his term as AIS Associate Vice President of Student Chapters. Under his dynamic leadership, the program has witnessed an impressive increase in cultural diversity. Moreover, innovative additions such as a compelling speaker series and an online competition and conference have been seamlessly integrated to complement the annual in-person event. The responsibilities entrusted to the AIS AVP of Student Chapters are multi-faceted and include: Orchestrating the coordination of Student Chapter Competitions hosted at the annual Student Chapter Leadership Conferences.Collaborating closely with the AIS VP Membership, AIS members, and AIS Staff to harmonize efforts in organizing both the in-person and online Student Chapter Leadership Conferences.Initiating proactive efforts to attract fresh student chapters, securing venues for the annual Student Chapter Leadership Conference, and enlisting sponsors for student chapter initiatives.Effectively managing the Student Chapter Advisory Faculty Advisory Board and related meetings.Collaborating with AIS Staff to enhance the AIS Student Chapter program communication. Pioneering the introduction of new resources and services aimed at elevating the student chapter program.Innovating leadership development tools tailored for student chapter officers and advisors.Collaborating with AIS Staff to develop the annual student chapter budget, issuing renewal invoices, and managing chapter renewals.
 The Associate Vice President for Student Chapters will report directly to the AIS Vice President (VP) of Membership. Extensive support will be provided through the AIS Office, which encompasses the AIS Membership Director, AIS Sr. Membership and Communications Coordinator, AIS Chief Operating Officer (COO), AIS Associate Executive Director (AED), and other key personnel. The position of AIS Vice President of Student Chapters was established in 2009, strategically integrated into the AIS Council to amplify and sustain the momentum generated by the AIS Student Chapter Initiative.  The dedication and tireless efforts of these trailblazers have been instrumental in establishing and expanding the AIS Student Chapters program, touching the lives of thousands of students across numerous universities over the past 15 years.
