Refreshed offerings for AIS Doctoral Student members are now available from AIS Special Interest Groups (SIGs), Chapters, and Colleges. The AIS Doctoral Student College Resources page notes which SIGs, Chapters, and Colleges offer complimentary memberships, complimentary or reduced workshop registrations, mentorship programs, research and teaching resources, student representative roles on SIG and Chapter boards, and travel grants, conference support, and scholarships. New for 2023 is a notation about which AIS Communities have student ambassador programs.

AIS Doctoral Students are encouraged to explore the refreshed resources page to learn more about what SIGs and Chapters offer.

The updated offerings include the following:

Complimentary Membership: If you are an AIS Doctoral Student member, you are eligible for many complimentary SIG and Chapter memberships. When available, the resources page will note a unique link to join or instructions to reach out to the SIG/Chapter for more information. As a Doctoral Student member, you automatically belong to the Doctoral Student College. The AIS Women’s Network also offers complimentary membership to AIS Doctoral Students when using the link on the resources page.

Complimentary or Reduced Workshop Registration: Many AIS Communities will waive the registration fee for pre-conference workshops or offer reduced workshop registration rates. Before registering for these workshops at the Americas Conference on Information Systems (AMCIS) or International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS), please review the resources page for special offers for AIS Doctoral Student College members.

Mentorship Opportunities: Throughout the year, many AIS Communities will offer one-on-one mentoring programs and special mentoring events specifically for AIS Doctoral Student members. These opportunities are hosted by the SIG, Chapter, and Colleges noting participation on the resources page.

Research and Teaching Resources: When noted on the resource page, many SIGs will offer programs and services to AIS Doctoral Student members to support research and teaching growth.

Travel Grants, Conference Support, or Scholarships: Many SIGs and Chapters offer grants and scholarships for participation in AIS and AIS-affiliated conferences. When noted on the resource page, AIS Doctoral Student members are encouraged to contact community leadership for more information.

Student Representative to Board/Council: Leadership opportunities are available with select SIGs, Chapters, and Colleges. Student representative positions allow AIS Doctoral Student members to engage with the community on a leadership level while expanding personal and professional networks.

Student Ambassadors Program: When noted, SIGs, Chapters, and Colleges have identified AIS Doctoral Student members as connections to the next generation of scholars. Each ambassador program is different, so please contact the AIS Community leadership directly to learn more.

The AIS Doctoral Student College is open to all graduate students and early career scholars in information systems who are members of AIS in good standing. The College has been established to provide a forum for discourse between graduate students and early career scholars, an opportunity for mentor relationships crucial to the success of graduate students and early career scholars, and an avenue for career coaching through AIS-sponsored panels and discussions at ICIS and other AIS-sponsored conferences.
