The Association for Information Systems (AIS) takes great pleasure in welcoming the May 2023 cohort of AIS Distinguished Members consisting of 49 AIS Distinguished Members and 24 AIS Distinguished Members-Cum Laude. This cohort represents the largest group to have earned the distinction since the program's inception in 2019.
The AIS Distinguished Member program stands as a testament to the association's commitment to acknowledging and honoring members who have rendered exceptional contributions to the association and the field of information systems. To attain this distinguished recognition, applicants must meet criteria encompassing the following dimensions:
Continuous AIS membership for a minimum of five years.
Engagement in significant roles within AIS or AIS-related activities. Examples include service supporting an AIS SIG, Chapter, or College, journal, or conference.
In addition to the AIS Distinguished Member designation, a more advanced tier exists, known as AIS Distinguished Member - Cum Laude. This recognition is reserved for individuals who exceed the standard requirements by demonstrating outstanding achievements, such as:
Maintenance of continuous AIS membership for a minimum of ten years.
Engagement in leadership roles within AIS or AIS-related activities such as serving in officer roles within the AIS Communities, on editorial boards, and on conference committees.
Publication of at least four publications in AIS or AIS-affiliated journals.
Applications for the next cohort are due no later than November 1, 2023. More information regarding the application process and the complete roster of AIS Distinguished Members may be found on the AIS Distinguished Members program page.
