AIS Research Ranking Services has recently been updated to now reflect 2022 data. AIS provides free access to the research ranking service, with data from 1990-2022.
AIS members can register for free to the service, which tracks publications in eight leading IS journals. The service also functions as a useful tool in assessing scholars’ progress toward promotion and tenure, providing decision-makers the information needed to set standards for faculty productivity, tenure, hiring and promotion, salary and more.

Provided with research support by Viswanath Venkatesh, the AIS Research Ranking Service helps the entire IS community assess research productivity of universities and faculty members in terms of publications in high-quality journals based on the AIS Senior Scholars’ Basket. It is also a useful tool in assessing scholars’ progress toward promotion and tenure. The rankings service has been offered since 2008 and includes data about articles published since 1990.
