The Institute for Business and Information Technology at Temple University in partnership with the Association for Information Systems and sponsored by Meta, is pleased to announce the publication of the 2022 IS Job Index, the only comprehensive longitudinal analysis of the information systems (IS) entry level job market in the United States.
Inaugurated in 2013 and published every 2 years, the IS Job Index is the only national longitudinal assessment of jobs, placement, demographics, search, acceptance, geographical patterns, and knowledge of information systems (IS), management information systems (MIS), and computer information systems (CIS) graduates. This most recent version of the IS Job Index includes data from 1,408 job market entrants from 36 universities across the U.S.
Some of the top insights from the report include cyber security, project management, consulting, and software development jobs pay the most, while jobs in Consulting and Data/Analytics are the most popular. Salaries for IS graduates are significantly higher than typical business majors for both Bachelor's and most Master's degrees, and overall IS salaries are outpacing business school salaries.
The data is useful for parents, students, and employers and especially useful for faculty and deans of higher education. The findings can be leveraged to promote IS programs and achievements to potential students and employers.
