AIS is excited to welcome the Saudi Arabia Chapter of the Association for Information Systems (SaudiAIS) to the AIS community.

SaudiAIS serves the IS community in Saudi Arabia, located in Region 2 (Europe/Middle East/Africa). The chapter aims to promote the exchange of ideas, experiences, and knowledge among scholars and professionals engaged in the development, management, and use of information systems and technology in Saudi Arabia.

“It is with great excitement to have established SaudiAIS and allow AIS members to connect with one another,” said Dr. Mazen Shawosh, President of SaudiAIS, King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) - KFUPM Business School (KBS). “Thank you to our executive board and founding members for helping make this possible. We are very excited to be the first AIS presence in the country!”

SaudiAIS has five goals for their chapter including:

  • Partner with MENA-AIS in organizing the MENACIS
  • Keep conducting the activities SaudiAIS has been doing for the last three years (e.g., online seminars, panel discussions)
  • Support and empower Saudi Women scholars
  • Establish a strong foundation for the association
  • Increase the membership in AIS and SaudiAIS

SaudiAIS is represented by Dr. Shawosh as President, Dr. Mona Alyami as Vice President, Ms. Amal Alsahli as Treasurer, Dr. Marwah Halwani as Secretary, and Dr. Tawfiq Alashoor as Publications Director.
