AIS Welcomes Three New Chapters

Wednesday, June 30, 2021   (0 Comments)

AIS is excited to welcome the Central Africa (CACAIS), Vietnam (VAIS), and West Africa (WACAIS) Chapters to the AIS community! Each of these chapters will contribute to the field of information systems by strengthening regional and global relationships, organizing members to produce novel research and publications, and provide educational opportunities in new regions.

Helle Zinner Henriksen, AIS Vice President of Member Services and Chapters, said about the new chapters, “… it is always great to place a new map pin because a pin on the map means that a group of AIS scholars have dedicated their time and energy to form a community for academics who share an interest in IS research and education. In June 2021 three new map pins were added to the landscape of AIS chapters around the globe. AIS chapters provide a good platform for knowledge sharing and community building – it is a steppingstone. I welcome the new chapters and encourage IS colleagues in the respective regions to join the chapters – and to see events and activities flourish.”

Below is more information on what the new chapters seek to bring to AIS and their regional communities.

  • The Central Africa Chapter (CACAIS) looks forward to fostering a sense of community among its members by creating specialized teams, adapted seminars, trainings, and joint projects. It will also work toward strengthening its connections with AIS communities across the Mediterranean. Learn more about CACAIS.
  • The Vietnam Chapter (VAIS) plans outline key strategic goals in research, teaching, and impact, and continue to contact publishers and collect material to release the first book of IS cases in Vietnam.
