AIS Announces Outstanding Communities for 2020

The Association for Information Systems has awarded 42 AIS Communities with the designation of Outstanding SIG, Chapter, or College for the 2020 reporting year.

In a time when maintaining personal and professional connections was more important than ever, our most successful community leaders implemented creative solutions to keep their members in contact with one another. Innovations from the past year include the introduction of a podcast, several new webinar series, a breakfast celebrating innovation, and a social event including a virtual escape room.

New communities formed in 2020, SIG Changing Nature of Work (SIG CNOW) and the Eastern Africa (AISEA) chapter, will begin their first reporting cycles on activities in the 2021 calendar year.

AIS Communities contribute to the field of information systems by catering to specialized areas of study, geographic locations, and similar professional interests. The Outstanding Community designation celebrates the exceptional work of AIS Communities and their contributions toward supporting the mission of AIS through the advancement of knowledge and the promotion of excellence in the practice and study of information systems.
