The AIS Doctoral Student College is excited to announce new initiatives and community-building events to help Doctoral Student members engage with the IS community and build their networks.

Join Communities to Connect With Others in your areas of research with the new SIG- Doctoral Student Engagement Program

The SIG-Doctoral Student Engagement Program provides AIS Doctoral Student members with an opportunity to receive up to two fully-funded Special Interest Group (SIG) memberships. The program is open to doctoral students with AIS memberships through July 2022 and applies to new SIG memberships only. SIG leaders will determine additional eligibility requirement and are encouraged to consider the applicant’s AIS region, UN HDI, and progression in their doctoral programs. AIS Doctoral Student members may submit an application through June 7, 2021.

Learn About Community Resources With the New SIG and Chapter Resources Guide

The Doctoral Student College has partnered with AIS SIGs and Chapters to create a new AIS SIG and Chapter Resources guide. This helpful guide consolidates information on programs and services specifically offered to AIS Doctoral Student members. The guide notes which SIGs and Chapters offer complimentary memberships, complimentary or reduced workshop registrations, mentorship programs, research and teaching resources, student representative roles on SIG and Chapter boards, and travel grants, conference support, and scholarships.

Join Us at the Doctoral Student Corner at ECIS 2021, PACIS 2021, and AMCIS 2021

In collaboration with organizers from all three conferences, the AIS Doctoral Student College is pleased to offer specialized events for Doctoral Students at each of the conferences in the 2021 Virtual Conference Series. During ECIS 2021, the Doctoral Student College will host Faculty Roundtables on Tuesday, June 15 at 10 a.m. CEST (4 a.m. EST). The Faculty Roundtables will provide students with the opportunity to meet and interact with senior IS scholars, who will provide advice on various aspects of academic life, including making the most of your doctoral studies.

During PACIS 2021, the Doctoral Student College will host a Student Hangout on Tuesday, July 13 at 10 a.m. CEST (4 a.m. EST / 4 p.m. Beijing) as an open student-to-student networking event.

Over the course of AMCIS 2021, the Doctoral Student College will host the online Welcome Reception and Social, Faculty Roundtables, a Panel discussion, and the Student Hangout and Concluding event. These longstanding Doctoral Student College events have kept our community connected for many years and serve as great opportunities for our members to expand their networks.
