AIS Student Chapters continues to grow with the addition of two new Student Chapters. With the introduction of chapters at DePaul University and University of Central Oklahoma, AIS now has 53 Student Chapters.
These new chapters have already started promoting AIS across their campus and encouraging the expansion of knowledge surrounding information systems. For example, University of Central Oklahoma has already hosted several IT professionals to present to their chapter. The chapter has also arranged for a group of alumni students to visit the campus to promote networking and career growth.
AIS would like to thank each university for its support of the student chapter initiative, as well as the leaders who have helped to see these chapters formed.
“AIS is extremely proud of its Student Chapters. These students have chosen to dedicate part of their busy schedules to AIS and therefore their own professional development,” according to Dr. Rhonda Syler, AIS Vice President for Student Chapters. “AIS Student Chapter members and faculty play a large role in making AIS diverse and full of new ideas.”
The new faculty advisors and student chapter presidents are Hamed Qahri-Saremi, faculty advisor, and Al Lawati Badar, president, DePaul University; and Therese Williams, faculty advisor, and Mason Williams, president, University of Central Oklahoma.
