This year's election for the new members of AIS Council is fast approaching. Consistent with our bylaws, a Nominating Committee was formed, and that committee has developed a slate of candidates who will stand for election. Here is the slate of available positions and associated candidates proposed by the Nominating Committee, listed in alphabetical order:
President-elect Region 3:
Robert M. Davison, City University of Hong Kong, HK
T.P. Liang, National Sun Yat-sen University, Taiwan
Walter Fernandez, University of New South Wales, Australia
VP of Education:
Heikki Topi, Bentley University, USA
Rhonda Syler, University of Arkansas, USA
Region 1 Representative:
David A. Tilson, University of Rochester, USA
Martín Santana Ormeño, ESAN University, Peru
Stacie Petter, Baylor University, USA
If you are interested in running for one of these AIS Council positions, you still have time to act. Any member of AIS can nominate him/herself or another person via petition. Here is what is required:
1. Each nomination must be accompanied by the signatures of 10 members in good standing. Electronic signatures will be accepted.
2. The nominee must be a member in good standing of AIS and must agree, by written notice to me, to stand for election.
3. Nominees by petition for President-Elect for the upcoming election must come from Region 3 – Asia and the Pacific. The President-Elect position rotates among the regions each year.
4. Notice of a nomination must be given by March 31.
The election will be held electronically on April 15. Bio sketches and platforms will be available for each candidate at that time. We look forward to wide voter participation in this important event!
