AIS Awards Best and Brightest at ICIS 2016

During ICIS 2016, AIS had the honor of presenting many prestigious awards to those who have greatly influenced the field of information systems, including the presentation of two new awards, the Leadership Excellence Award and the AIS Outreach Practice Publication Award.
“The awards committee members faced a daunting task this year, as the field of outstanding IS professionals continues to grow,” said AIS President Jason Thatcher. “The honors bestowed upon those at ICIS 2016 give us great hope for the future of our field as it is led by such innovative and dedicated professionals.”
The Leadership Excellence Award was presented to Atish Banerjea, Chief Information Officer of Facebook, for his distinguished leadership and innovation in the use and development of information systems. The Outreach Practice Publication Award, which recognizes members who successfully transfer research to practitioner audiences in practice-based publications, was awarded to Yves Pigneur, professor of Information Systems at the University of Lausanne.
