Brian Mennecke, a business professor at Iowa State University and member of AIS since 1994, passed away unexpectedly in mid-July.

Mennecke had more than 2,000 citations in leading journals, conference proceedings, and edited books, including CAIS and MISQ. He was a member of SIG GIS (Geographic Information Systems). He was also a mini-track chair for AMCIS 2016.

His research focused on technology issues including the influence of social and digital media on consumer decisions, security and privacy concerns related to mobile commerce and facial recognition systems, as well as collaboration in virtual worlds.

"The IS world has lost a phenomenal contributor," said AIS President Jason Thatcher. "His service and passion for the field of information systems will be missed."

Mennecke taught courses in ISU’s MBA program and mentored many graduate students during his career. To learn more about his career and contributions, please click here.
