Junior Faculty Consortium

The Junior Faculty Consortium draws together not-yet-tenured faculty along with faculty mentors from a variety of schools throughout the world for activities and discussion aimed to offer all participants insights into their own and others’ academic careers that can help them continue their creativity, passion, and excitement for a balanced work-life commitment to academia and its impact on society.

The consortium is limited to those who have completed their Ph.D. and are in an academic position anywhere in the world. To participate in the JFC, please add it to your conference registration (limited to first 25 folks who register). We will contact you directly with more information closer to the conference.

A key portion of the consortium will be the Catalyst Program designed to help junior faculty map their career development plan (CDP) in small breakout sessions. Mentors will provide feedback and input into strategies that participants can use to help achieve their CDP.

Mid-Career Faculty Workshop

The Mid-Career Faculty Workshop seeks to provide an outlet for faculty members to gain insight and guidance on developing their next-stage careers. This workshop is appropriate for any faculty member who has navigated the first 5-7 years of their career. All faculty who reached the stage of Associate Professor, Senior Lecturer, or equivalent position are encouraged to attend, even if the faculty member has participated in prior mid-career meetup consortiums. Since the primary purpose is to create interactive, networking opportunities, we encourage you to join us in this engaging meetup. Our goal is to support the notion that scholars need to build a network of relationships and resources to support their personal agenda, whether their desired role is scholarly, pedagogical, administrative, or entrepreneurial.

AMCIS 2023 Workshop: Incorporating Process Mining and Automation in Classroom Settings

Exploration of the emerging field of process mining and provide ways to incorporate it into teaching Information System curricula. Case study domains will span finance, healthcare, logistics, RPAs, and marketing (customer journey). In the first half of the workshop, we will analyze the results of applying process mining to some of the domains mentioned above. The second half of the workshop will focus on creating the stand-alone analysis for a business process (like order-to-cash etc.) IMPORTANT: Attendees to bring their own laptop.
