AMCIS 2027

Digital Humanities stands at a dynamic crossroads between information systems and the rich diversity of human culture, offering new ways to explore, analyze, and reinterpret the complexities of our societies. As digital technologies reshape how knowledge is created and shared, AMCIS 2027 invites participants to reflect on how information systems can support innovative, inclusive, and critical approaches to the humanities. Digital Humanities challenges us to rethink the role of technology in shaping human experience and meaning.

Hosted in São Paulo, Brazil—a city and country marked by profound cultural, social, and linguistic diversity—this conference provides a unique context to advance global and local perspectives in Digital Humanities. Brazil’s vibrant plurality and São Paulo’s position as a major technological and cultural hub create an ideal environment to examine how information systems can engage with diverse voices, foster intercultural dialogue, and address pressing societal challenges. By bringing together international scholars and practitioners, we aim to inspire new collaborations that connect technological innovation with human-centered values across different contexts and realities.
